1. Try something new.
Is there a new class at the gym you have been thinking about trying? Have you been considering zip lining? Get up on that junk! Trying new things can be exhilarating – so put yourself out there and be courageous with something new.
2. Be spontaneous.
Do something on the spur of the moment just for the sake of fun. Pull over and eat at that restaurant you have passed every day for a year and wondered about. Throw an impromptu BBQ. Take a 1 hour day trip and see what you see. Follow your instincts and let spontaneity guide you.
3. Make something with your hands.
Creating with your hands is so satisfying. Build a birdhouse. Paint. Cook. Plant a garden. Use those opposable thumbs and make something out of nothing.
Walk away from electronics and make your own fun. Read. Wonder. Nap. Swim. Canoe. Do something that doesn’t require emojis or hashtags or screens.
5. Plan some future fun.
Decide to commit to something fun a week, a month or a year from now. Plan a trip. Map out a goal. Visit a friend. Make a plan for something fun you are going to do with your life in the foreseeable future.
